The "Black Art" of Pnuematic Conveying

The Basics of Pneumatic Conveying

Among the many facets of bulk solids material handling we at PROMAT have extensive experience with, one of the more difficult to wrap one's head around is pneumatic conveying.  While collectively we have broad experience with both pneumatic and vacuum conveying which goes a long way to shedding light on this "black art" it is nevertheless important to have a comprehensive understanding of the basics.
We  have in the past connected with Jack Hilbert of Pneumatic Conveying Consultants who is recognized as one of the "guru's" in this "black art".  Over at the Plattco Corporation website Jack Hilbert has begun authoring a series of articles to help everyone understand the basics of pneumatic conveying systems.

In Part 1 Jack describes the basic pneumatic conveying system, defines key parameters and the three primary types of systems.

In Part 2 Jack builds on Part 1 and lays the ground work for future articles by identifying key terms and definitions.
Part 2 -  Key Terms and Definitions You Need to Know

I join you in looking forward to the next instalment.
